Von miller injury, Previously, Mike Klis of The Denver Post reported that there was a fear that Miller may have torn his ACL:
The Broncos' strongside linebacker left early in the game Sunday against the Houston Texans with a knee injury. He will have an magnetic resonance imaging exam among other tests Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
There is fear Miller suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, which would end his season. There also is hope tests will reveal his injury won't be that severe and he might be able to brace up for the playoffs.
"There's always some concern when your teammate goes down, especially a guy like Von, who's really starting to click now," said Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey. "It's unfortunate, but hopefully it's something minor and something he can come back from real quick."
Miller has been a vital part of Denver’s defense since returning from a six-game suspension, and losing him for any extended period of time would be detrimental to the team’s Super Bowl hopes.
In the nine games since his return, the pass-rushing linebacker racked up 33 combined tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles. For a defense that entered the day 28th in the league against the pass, allowing 266.1 yards per game, Miller’s absence will hurt significantly.
Miller is coming off a monster season in which he amassed 68 combined tackles, 18.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and an interception. Without him in the lineup, Denver’s defense will struggle to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks with any consistency.
The team has not announced a timetable for a return.
