Children die in mobile home fire louisiana, Three children died in a mobile home fire in Louisiana early on Christmas morning. On Dec. 25, NBC News reported that the children couldn't get out of the mobile home when a fire swept through, leaving nothing but smoke in its wake. The children's parents were taken to a nearby hospital and were badly burned but expected to be okay. They were all in town staying with relatives for the holiday.
"The state Fire Marshal's Office said that a 12-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and a 9-year-old boy died in the fire at the Whispering Oaks Trailer Park, in Houma," NBC News reports.
The children died in a mobile home fire in Louisiana after it broke out around midnight. There were a lot of people inside the mobile home when it went up in flames -- at least four adults and 8 children but most were not injured. It is believed that the children who passed away were closest to the fire when it broke out. Their father tried to save them but he couldn't. He was able to survive a fourth sibling, however:
"The children's father rescued one child, who survived, but was unable to reach the three children who died in the blaze," NBC News reports.
Five other children didn't die but were in the mobile home at the time of the fire. Louisiana officials are currently investigating the cause of the inferno. The mobile home was deemed a total loss.
