Grinch steals christmas decorations collingwood ontario, A week before Santa arrives for the annual parade, and it seems the Grinch has already come to town.

Sometime late Thursday or early Friday, culprits made off with two large lit displays in the downtown; the decorations are made to look like large Christmas gifts.

The displays were located at Hurontario and Fourth, and Pine and Second.

In other police news:

• COLLINGWOOD — A business owner on Balsam Street needs new tires for a forklift.

Sometime between Nov. 12 and 15, someone punctured the tires of the vehicle, which was parked behind the Balsam Street Plaza.

Police say the culprits also damaged a garage door.

• HURONIA WEST — OPP officers in Wasaga Beach and Clearview will be stuffing the backs of their cruisers with food and toys.

Officers will be working with the food banks in Wasaga Beach and Stayner, the Wasaga Beach Kinette Club, and several area grocery stores to collect and distribute food and toys to those less fortunate during the holiday season.

On Saturday, officers will be set up at the Wasaga Beach Superstore and the Wasaga Beach Wal-Mart from noon until 6 p.m.; on Sunday, the cruiser will be at Stayner Foodland from noon until 5 p.m.

Ideas for donation included colouring books, crayons, crafting and art supplies for all ages; baard games; gift Certificates to major retail stores and restaurants; personal hygiene items such as deodorant, body wash, perfume and cologne; sporting equipment such as soccer balls, basketball, road hockey sticks, tape, pucks.
